Ricardo Castillon, Art Tigerina and Cacy Savala are among the 2019 class of inductees for the Tejano R.O.O.T.S. Hall of Fame.
Other notables of the over 70 inductees include Oscar G and Grupo Negami lead vocalist Juan Carlos Villegas for Vocalists, and Rudy Rocha of La Fiebre for Guitarist. Chencho Flores Y Su Conjunto and Los Arcos Hermanos Pena will be honored for Conjunto Tradicional.
Since 2000, the non-profit organization Tejano R.O.O.T.S. Hall Of Fame, which R.O.O.T.S. stands for Remembering Our Own Tejano Stars, honors musicians, songwriters, producers, broadcasters, and supporters of the Tejano music industry. The Tejano ROOTS Hall Of Fame located in Alice, Texas, the birthplace of Tejano music, displays artifacts musical instruments, photographs, stage costumes and other materials honoring Tejano music.
The Tejano R.O.O.T.S. Hall of Fame will celebrate with Noche De Fiesta Tejana recognizing the inductees on January 3 – 4, 2020, in Alice, Texas.
